Angel’s Pool and Devil’s Pool are the ultimate infinity pools and the #1 must-see at Victoria Falls in Zambia. It’s the only place in the world where you can experience a natural infinity pool on the edge of the world’s biggest waterfall.
Devil’s Pool is the more well-known pool, which can be seen during the dry season from May to October. During the wet season, which is when I was there (in mid-February), you can visit the lesser-known Angel’s Pool instead. Angel’s Pool is sounds like the ugly stepsister of Devil’s Pool because no one has heard of it and there’s no information on it. Even the tourist office didn’t have any proper information on it, so it didn’t sound promising.
I decided to take the chance and go to Angel’s Pool and it ended up being one of the major highlights of my entire 2+ month Africa trip. IT WAS F***ING AWESOME!!!!! As soon as I came back and showed people my pictures, literally 10 people immediately booked their spot to go the next day.
NEED TO KNOW BEFORE VISITING ANGEL’S POOL
You can only visit Devil’s and Angel’s Pools from the Zambian side of Victoria Falls on a small group tour.
You cannot visit either of the pools without a tour. And once you see the pools, you’ll learn that you would probably definitely die if you went on your own.
You need to hang on to your swimsuit bottom and top because the raging water will ferociously try to pull them off. It’s no joke. A one piece swimsuit may be ideal for women.
The tour guides are insane! The guy taking our pictures had everyone’s cameras and phones and was standing, chilling and walking on the slippery edge of the waterfall, without holding on or attached to any safety harness, while the raging water was pouring off the edge. It was stressing me out and giving me anxiety.
Smartphones can withstand a considerable amount of water and survive. All of these pictures were taken with an iPhone 6.
There are 5 tours per day and it gets more expensive later in the day. For $115-179USD, you get one of the craziest and most unique experiences of your life, some of the coolest pictures of your life and a delicious meal. It’s a steep price for only a few hours, but everything is ridiculously overpriced at Victoria Falls.
Some people went in the early morning and they found it wasn’t the best time to go because it was really misty, so their pictures didn’t turn out as well. I went in the late morning, so I still got the cheapest price and I had clear weather.

Hey Britt, I don’t know if it’ll be open in May, but if it’s not, then Devil’s Pool will be open for sure because they alternate seasons 🙂
We are going to Livingston on january and the devil’s pool are going to be close. I was not sure to do the Angel’s pool but after that I saw your story we are going to do this experience. It seams so cooool!! Thank you!!
