Bungee jumping at Victoria Falls is an absolute must for adrenalin junkies because you free-fall 111m in 4 seconds.
With Victoria Falls behind you, and the Zambezi River flowing beneath you, bungee jumping at Victoria Falls is also one of the most scenic bungee jumps in the world.
MY EXPERIENCE
It was my first time bungee jumping, but I had just gone skydiving in Namibia 2 weeks before, so it was a similar experience, but bungee jumping is less scary because you’re actually attached to something. With bungee jumping, you jump alone, so it’s on you to jump; whereas you’re attached to an experienced sky diver when you skydive. Although, when you bungee jump, you have some help to “guide” you off (i.e. push you off), to avoid hesitation and wasting time.
It was awesome!!! And it’s over so fast in only about 4 seconds. It’s such a crazy and unnatural feeling to free fall, especially upside down.
I didn’t love when I was stuck dangling upside down waiting for them to deal with me, but I would definitely do it all again!
NEED TO KNOW
Zambia and Zimbabwe share the bungee jumping bridge, so you must bring your passport. I jumped from Zambia and had to walk through Zimbabwe briefly to exit from the bungee jumping.
Bungee jumping at Victoria Falls will cost you $168US. If you don’t feel like jumping head first off a bridge, but you still want an adrenalin rush, you can try the bridge swing ($168US) or bridge slide/zipline ($48US). Both can be done in tandem for an extra fee. Or you can do all three for $220US.
It’s $30US to buy the professional photos of your jump, $55US for the video, or $65US for both. I opted for the photos only. The video would’ve been cool if I didn’t look like a flailing dead body after the recoil.
For more information on bungee jumping at Victoria Falls, as well as other activities offered in the area, see here.
And if you’re still craving more, you can head to South Africa to do the one of the world’s highest bungee jumps at 216m.
